Second language acquisition is very important in our global world. It is necessary for every area of life, for example, to find job, to make career, for taking news from the world. Because English has become a world language which is used in everywhere. Age is not the characteristic factor to learn a second language, everybody in every age can learn. But people have some problems with second language acquisition. The topic is about learning disabilities for ESL adults. The purpose of this study is to explain the results and the effects of learning disabilities an ESL adults and to reveal the methods of treatment and the effect of helping tools on development of learners.
This topic is not only wide but also complicated one which every person reflects different reaction. There isn’t a predictable diagnosis or a certain symptom that belongs to learning disability (National Institutes of Mental Health – NIH) so this makes the cure of problem hard. In spite of this, learning disability is being divided into parts now. Thanks to classification, definition of the disability can be done and the instructor can make the search more easily (Gay & Greenberg, 2000). Different therapies are suggested for adults because there isn’t a certain cure or a kind of pill. The problem should be understood truly so special education program which is suitable for person’s situation can be applied (Educational Resaurces Information Center). Almanza, Singleton, and Terrill (1995, 1996) has carried out different education programs on various ESL adults to see how effective these programs are. So varied perspectives have been developing for adults learning. Alsa many kinds of tools were used to assist in improving of students such as computer, newspaper (Cohen, 1994).

In order to understand the whole study, what learning disability means has to be known. Learning disability is a disorder that affects people’s ability to either interpret what they see and hear or to link information from different parts of the brain. One of the most fundamental factor in learning disability is to be a hidden handicap. This doesn’t disfigure or leave visible signs that would supply others to understand. It is difficult to notice which person is learning disabled. Adults can also show learning disabilities in a second language although they don’t in their first language (ERIC).
There is one point that is needed to be careful. Every problem in learning doesn’t mean that person is learning disabled. It can be slowness in developing skills. Because adults may show natural differences in their rate of development (NIH). There are many effects on adults that should be considered before calling them as disabled. They are generally about their backgrounds, styles, surroundings such as mental problem that person has had, personal skills, sociocultural factors, importance given to the studies, teacher’s wrong teaching style, disorder in attendance, personal problems (Adkins, Sample, & Birman, 1999; Almanza, Singleton, & Terrill, 1995/96; Grognet, 1997; Schwarz & Burt, 1995).
